Difference Between Honda Civic Ex and Lx

Honda Civic is available in five variants: LX, EX, EX-T, EX-L and Touring. The LX and EX models are bestsellers and you may be a tad perplexed when you need to choose. Visibly there may be very few differences to be of consequence unless you look very closely, perhaps with a magnifier. The quality of drive will also be very similar but there is a substantial difference between Honda Civic EX and LX.

Difference Between Honda Civic EX and LX

• In exterior features, the EX has one touch power moon-roof with tilt feature and smart entry. The LX model doesn’t have either.

• In seating, the EX has fold down 60/40 split rear seatback. The LX doesn’t have this feature.

• In comfort and convenience, the EX has a push button start, passenger side seatback pocket and rear seat center armrest. The LX doesn’t have these features but it has a driver’s and passenger’s vanity mirror. The EX has the vanity mirror and it is illuminated which the LX doesn’t possess. The EX has rear beverage holders, the LX doesn’t.

• The EX and LX have multi angle rearview camera with guidelines. The EX has dynamic guidelines. The EX has Honda LaneWatch including the Blind Spot Camera. The LX doesn’t have it.

• In audio and connectivity, the EX heavily scores over the LX. The EX has Pandora compatibility, SMS text message function, HondaLink and Apple CarPlay / Google Android Auto. The LX has a charging port in front (1.5 amps) which the EX has as well. The EX has an additional charging port in center console (1.0 amp). The LX has 160 watt audio system with 4 speakers and a 5 inch color display while the EX has 180 watt audio system with 8 speakers and 7 inch touchscreen that is Apple CarPlay & Android Auto compatible.

The safety features, performance and other quintessential automobile technologies are available in both Civic EX and LX. Both being bestselling cars; not among the most luxurious sedans but certainly among midrange to premium sedans; the Civic EX and LX do not leave you craving for much more. Whatever additional features you have in the EX certainly make the drive more pleasurable but they don’t really make the LX a very inferior variant. There is a substantial price difference between Honda Civic EX and LX which will also influence your eventual decision.
